Dress Code — First Tee Gulf Coast (Chapter-Wide)
Parents and Participants: As part of The First Tee Code of Conduct under the Core Value of “Respect for Myself,” the expectation is set as follows:
• I will dress neatly and wear golf or athletic shoes.
This basic standard good starting point and one we request that all participants and their parents, guardians, siblings and any other guests adhere to at all times at all host courses and sites.
HOWEVER: All participants and accompanying guests should note that individual golf course Dress Codes my vary from site-to-site, and it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself and adhere at all times to those specific expectations while guests on these host properties. A golf facility may be municipal, federal, public, semi-private, resort or private—and it should be understood that the Dress Code will almost definitely vary from course to course—and the management will appreciate you asking. So don’t assume—ASK.
Some properties may allow t-shirts or denim/jeans on property or on course, but as a rule, ripped or cutoff clothing is never appropriate. Hats should be worn forwards only, never backwards.
A final recommendation: A participant wearing proper golf attire with a golf shirt tucked in and a hat removed when entering the clubhouse would never be questioned anywhere in the golfing world….just food for thought.
With Many Thanks,
The Board, Coaches and Staff of First Tee Gulf Coast
