Summer Tour Week Three: Southern Juniors @ Scenic Hills Country Club

Description: The Summer Tour is a five-week tournament series open to junior golfers ages 6–18 . Players don’t have to play all five weeks, (they can play once if desired), but they need to participate in at least three complete tournaments to be eligible for end-of-season awards. We will award the champions of each division (top five places including ties)* at the Summer Banquet on July 22.

The Future Masters Division
is for new and developing golfers ages 6–18. Some rules and yardages are modified to allow an introductory level competitive playing experience for developing golfers. Ages 6–7 play a six-hole tournament per week. Ages 8–18 play a nine-hole tournament per week. Weekly medals are awarded in each age group, but players must play in a minimum of three completed tournaments to be eligible for end-of-summer trophies. Six hole players age 6-7 play on Tuesday mornings. Nine hole players ages 8-11 play on Tuesday mornings. Nine hole players ages 12-18 play on Monday mornings.

The Junior Masters Division is for the more advanced junior golfer. There is not a minimum age, but players must make a “Cut” to participate. On the player’s first attempt, he/she must score a 54 or better on their front nine in order to proceed to the back. If they do not score at least a 54, they must end their round. They are allowed to re-attempt the next week. If the player does not make the Cut within two attempts, the player will be placed in the 9-hole Future Masters Division and receive a partial refund. 54 Plays and 55 Stays–No Exceptions. (Opportunities to make the Cut are offered on Mondays.) No caddies are allowed and USGA Rules govern all play along with any Local Rules and Terms of Competition adopted by the Committee. Golfers play a two-day, 36-hole tournament. End-of-Tour awards are given in two age groups: 16-18 and 15&Under. Approx. yardages for Boys: 6,000-6,500 yds/Girls: 5,000-5,500 yds. Trophies are awarded for 1st-3rd place after the final round each week. All 36-hole results are ranked and listed on Junior Golf Scoreboard (as long as there are at least five players completing 36 holes). All tee times begin at 8 am on Monday and Tuesday mornings.

64th Annual Divot Derby Tournament @ Various

The 64th Annual Divot Derby! This event is FREE for local junior golfers age 6-18! (Must reside within our six county service area from Escambia to Bay counties and Baldwin County in Alabama. Includes a skills challenge, multiple tournament days, and an awards banquet.
