Congratulations on qualifying for the 17^th Annual A. Downing Gray Cup hosted by Pensacola Country Club. The tournament will be held Monday and Tuesday, July 27-28, 2026, and is held annually to honor one of Pensacola’s most accomplished golfers and long-time PCC Member, Mr. Downing Gray. A Pensacola Native and -alumnus of Pensacola High School and Florida State University, Mr. Gray went on to be a seven- time Masters Participant, play in 19 US Amateurs and became one of the most decorated amateurs since Bobby Jones.
This event serves as our annual championship for winners and qualifiers from the following categories:

• 2026 GPJGA Summer Tour — Top 5 plus ties (not including age 14-18 Nine-Hole Divisions);
• 2026 Divot Derby — Top 3 plus ties (not including age 14-18 Nine-Hole Divisions);
• 2025 Tom Dorsey Winter Classic – each age group division winner;
• All graduating Seniors with multiple years of tournament participation;
• All PCC Junior Golf Members who have played in at least three Chapter individual stroke play tournaments dating back to the previous Tom Dorsey Winter Classic);
• Eligible Junior Golfers who are previous ADG Overall Champions

Competition rounds for all participants will be both Monday and Tuesday. You must email Tournament Director Nicholas Dimitroff at nicholas@firstteeglufcoast.org no later than Noon on Tuesday, July 21st and declare your intent to participate: Mr. Dimitroff will handle pairings, registration, starting & scoring; all questions regarding this event should be referred to him via email.
There is no cut—all participants will play 9 or 18 holes each day depending on age group. All awards (all divisions) will be presented in person by Mr. Gray the PCC Clubhouse at the conclusion of the tournament — approximately 1:30 PM on Tuesday. Due to space considerations in the Bayview Room where awards will be held, it is asked that only immediate family members join their participant for lunch and/or the awards (at their own expense) following the conclusion of play Tuesday.

Tournament Notes for Players and Parents: 

Practice Rounds: Maximum of TWO are available for registered qualifiers who are non-members of Pensacola Country Club
any time after 1 pm from Tuesday, July 21-23 and Saturday/Sunday, July 25-26 (no practice rounds available on Friday 7/24).
Please call the Golf Shop at 850-455-1488 to schedule your practice rounds. Play is on a space-available basis; pairing with other
junior golfers is requested when possible. The practice round fee is $10.75 (including tax) for 9 or 18 Holes (walking—any
players who would like to ride during practice rounds must have a valid driver’s license or have a parent drive). Immediate
family members who would like to play with their junior golfers are welcome to do so for a rate of $75.25 per player (includes
cart, greens fee, range before play & tax

Spectators & Golf Cart Policies (practice rounds and tournament rounds): $12.90 for 9 Holes and $23.65 for 18 holes—payable in/to the PCC Pro Shop (tax included on both). There will be a limited number of carts, first come-first served–carts cannot and will not be “reserved,” so spectators should be prepared to pair up in carts or walk if necessary. Juniors may ride with parents during the practice round if they would like in a rented cart (two occupants only per cart, please). All players will walk during competition under the same division rules as the Summer Tour/ Divot Derby. There are no hole markers at PCC–ask pro shop staff for a course map & junior scorecard if necessary.

Tee Times: Will begin at 8 am Monday & Tuesday, #1 and # 10 Tees: There is one flight only in each age group, and awards will be given for the top three finishers in each age division, male & female: Future Masters will play 9 holes each day, 5-6, 7-9, 10-11, 12-13; Junior Masters in the Open Division (18 total holes ; 15-U, 16-18) will have a #10 Tee Start Monday; #1 Tee Start Tuesday (18 holes each day, 36 total).  The overall male and female champion from the 36-hole open division will each receive the A. Downing Gray Cup, a take-home trophy as well as their name placed on the permanent plaque that remains at Pensacola Country Club. PCC has two sets of permanent in-ground junior tees which will be marked for tournament play with our FTGC Green (PCC White) and Yellow above-ground Junior Tee Markers. Food & Beverages: No personal coolers are allowed on the course. PCC is formally closed on Monday but sandwiches, wraps, snacks and beverages will be available for purchase from the beverage cart during play on Monday. On Tuesday, lunch will be available following play from 1030 AM – 130 PM – The cost of Lunch will be covered by the GPJGA for all players; Lunch is $15 for all Parents/Guests payable to PCC and includes beverage and dessert—please let us know on Monday if you intend to eat on Tuesday so we can give the club an accurate count. All lunch and beverage cart purchases may be made with either cash or card–please support PCC by utilizing the beverage cart both days and eating lunch on Tuesday. **All cards will incur a 3% processing fee. As there are no water coolers available currently on the course, our staff will provide coolers with water on both days in the interest of participant and spectator safety.

Other Information: Practice facilities are open to all juniors before play in the tournament and the in practice

rounds. Proper etiquette and attire are expected from all players, parents and guests at all times—no hats are to be worn in the clubhouse at any time. Rangefinders are allowed. Results will be sent in to National Junior Scoreboard upon completion of 36 holes. Pairings for the tournament will be emailed/posted on the website by noon on Friday, July 24. Any/all ties will be broken by on-course playoff, with the hole format determined by the rules committee.

Awards for All Age Divisions: Will be presented in-person by Mr. Gray at approximately 1:30 PM Tuesday (or as soon as play in completed for all ages and divisions. Participants in younger divisions/early finishers are welcome to enjoy the PCC Pool adjacent to the clubhouse while awaiting the conclusion of play and the Awards Ceremony. Proper pool etiquette and attire are expected and all guests will swim at their own risk. Swimsuits are not allowed in the clubhouse, and all attendees are expected to re-dress in clubhouse appropriate attire and be ready for the awards ceremony no later than 1:15 PM.
